This website will make your self catering cottage or holiday home search a lot simpler.

How? The reason is that it has moved away from the traditional click and view mechanism to select a holiday home or cottage. Instead homes and cottages stream in front of you on a carousel.

Almost every alternative that is out there involves looking at pictures, clicking on them, looking at more pictures, clicking on them, and after two or three hours of this and getting nowhere, decide to give up and do something else with your valuable time. We believe that selecting a holiday home or cottage for your vacation should not be a torturous experience, rather a pleasant experience.

It should be something to enjoy, even a family activity, where everyone has the opportunity to take part. Our streaming technology for presenting many self catering cottages and holiday homes all at once along with all that they have to offer is displayed and taken in at a glance. A bit like having all the homes and cottages being laid out in front of you, and you can just pick your ideal accomodation for your holiday.

How does can we make selecting a cottage an enjoyable exercise?

Quite simply. It does it quickly. You will make a choice in a fraction of the time that you would otherwise take. Cottages and houses are streamed after you select an area and date. Then you let the carousel run through all the potential places for you to spend your holiday. Availability, facilities, pricing and other information streams past just waiting for you to stop on a candidate. Once a home or cottage has been selected maps and local area attractions around the home or cottage can be viewed. It could not be simpler. All the information with which you need to make a decision presented in a way that removes the tedium and disappointment and hours of clicking through pages and getting no results.

Why be different?

Personal experience led us to believe that we would like to see more in less time. We believe that the time taken to choose the house or cottage for your holiday is very important. Your time is valuable and we recognize that. Our carousel can present cottages to the consumer at the rate 10 per second. Sites that use links and menus can only get you to your destination in 30 seconds at best. That represents a 300X improvement over the traditional static website. Consequently, you the consumer benefits directly by seeing much more in less time and the property owner benefits indirectly by having his property viewed far more often.

They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. The eye is extermely quick at analyzing data. At 10 pictures per second the VuRental solution outstrips any self catering website in the world with regard to the presentation speed of holiday homes and self catering cottages from which to choose.

But pictures are not everything, or are they?

They are almost everything. Pictures are excellent sources of information. VuRental is packed with them. In fact we have no limits on how many picures our clients can upload. However, words have their part to play. In addition, to viewing the homes or cottages at a very high rate all the relevent information for the property is presented at the same time. That is, the availability calander, the geographic location provided by a Google map, the prices, the facilities, and the credit cards accepted.

VuRental is geared towards the consumer, and especially their time. VuRental provides a mechanism for rapidly going through houses and cottages to select the best accommodation available at a glance.

OK, I got it. I picked a cottage, how do I book it?

Booking accommodation is made simple too. We provide the tariff and a calender that has all the unavailable dates marked. The holidaymaker can't go wrong, the calander won't allow any double booking, and the invoice is calculated on the form. Identical information is submitted to the proiperty owner, to be either accepted or denied.

When you have selected a self catering cottage or holiday house one of the first things that you may want to know about are the local amenities. VuRental provides that information through the use of maps and directions provided by Google Places Search complete with queries and driving directions on how to get there and back.

WASCO, formed in 1995, committed its members to maintaining the principles of "comfort, cleanliness, courtesy and efficiency and to offering visitors to Wales consistently high standards within their self-catering properties. (see the customer charter link alongside left) More than 16 years later, and now with a much increased membership, these WASCO ideals continue. As does our emphasis on understanding and providing a quality experience to our visitors and guests. It is still an independent run by and for owners and operators, funded entirely by annual subscriptions and services to members. Our members own and manage over 2,500 rural and city properties throughout Wales, ranging from cottages and chalets to flats, lodges and castles. Owners with just a single property, up to operators of large self-catering complexes, all enjoy unique benefits of membership. WASCO does not run a booking agency. We encourage visitors to deal directly with our members, to benefit from the personal touch and enjoy an authentic experience of the real Wales – its people, language, history, culture, events, landscape and food. Very encouragingly, our members report a year-on-year increase in bookings via our worldwide online presence. WASCO

Tourism for All

Tourism for All UK is the UK Voice for Accessible Tourism. We are a national charity dedicated to making tourism welcoming to all.

A break or a holiday, or a simple day trip is important to our lives, giving us something to look forward to, time to enjoy our families, a chance for adventure, or perhaps some time to ourselves, to recover, and acquire memories of happy times. In the past, some of us have encountered barriers to our participation in tourism - disabled people, older people, carers of young people or disabled or older relatives - Tourism for All works to overcome these. This website is about the charity, how you can help as an individual, and the advice and assistance we can offer to your business or organisation. We operate an active network, passing on info about the best, and seeking to help change the worst - please take part in this with us by registering with the site, and/or becoming a member. Our new website is the site where we offer comprehensive information about places to stay, visit, eat and drink, and activities and events, in the UK. There is a link below to take you straight there if that is what you are looking for. For overseas and other information, click on the TFA Directory in the right hand margin. Please help us raise standards of welcome and accessibility for all!

Quality in Tourism

Quality Assessment provides useful information to consumers about the quality of accommodation that is currently available in and around the UK. Acting as a reliable regulatory body for the accommodation and tourism industry, we recognise quality, differentiate levels of facilities and services and make potential guests aware of what they can expect before they make a booking. The standards Quality in Tourism assess to have been created as a result of harmonising standards from the National Tourist Boards for England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and also with the cooperation of the AA. Most of the schemes featured throughout this website recognise increasing levels of quality using a rating system of 1 – 5 stars. In a select number of schemes, excellence is further acknowledged with the use of the acclaimed Silver and Gold awards.

The Official Tourism Website for Shropshire

The peak district was the first to be designated a national park in England. It encompasses two distinct landscapes. The Dark Peaks of the north which feature gritstone crags and the moorlands of Kinder Scout and the White Peaks of the south which has a gentler limestone landscape with pretty valleys winding through the countryside. As well as the 500 square miles of stunning countryside, there are interesting market towns like Bakewell and Buxton and areas of historical interest such as the world heritage site in the Derwent Valley and the famous plague village of Eyam. It is an area that has something to offer everyone from stately homes, to activities such as climbing, walking, fishing, potholing, prehistoric stone circles.

Scotland has been handing down its traditions for close to a thousand years now, since the earliest days of the clans in the 12th century. However, Scottish traditions are not something sterile under glass and steel in a cold museum. They are vibrant, living things, constantly growing and evolving, and every generation adds the thumbprint of its own particular Scottish culture to the whole.
